Another West L.A. Bookstore Bites the Dust

 

We drove out to Santa Monica to spend the rainy day on the pier. Driving through West L.A., I spotted another bookstore had closed. Gene de Chene Books is gone. I'd been a regular at Gene de Chene since my schooldays at UCLA. I bought and sold a lot of books there. I had a lot of great finds and spent more than a few rainy afternoons browsing their shelves. The store will be remembered and missed.
